Welcome!

Welcome to Girl Scouts of Orange County Troop 2898! We're so glad you found us!

We're a multi-level troop with girls ranging in age from Kindergarten through 9th grade. We meet in Rancho Santa Margarita, CA and our members come from there and the surrounding communities.

We are SUPER-ACTIVE and BUSY! Our Daisy and Brownie troops meet every other Sunday (usually the first and third Sundays of the month) and Juniors and Cadettes meet every Sunday. Year round, you may find us working on badges, doing community service projects, or camping.

If you're interested in joining our exciting group, click on the Contact Us link and request more information. We look forward to hearing from you!

Cookies are Here!

Posted on Jan 20 2021 - 10:06pm

Hi folks, the cookies are here, and I'm excited to get them out of my garage... :)

Please text Dave with a time on Saturday that you can come by and pick up your cookies - I will be available all day.  Go to http://tiny.cc/cookie_request to tell us what you'd like to pick up on Saturday.  We really want EVERY GIRL SCOUT to pick up at least a "starter pack" of cookies to sell to your freinds and family, neighbors, etc.  While you can't go door-to-door, you CAN drop off flyers or door hangers to get those sales!

Looking forward to seeing you all on Saturday!

Junior Meeting Attendance

Posted on Jan 20 2021 - 10:06pm

We've been seeing fewer and fewer scouts at meetings--probably at least in part due to Zoom fatigue.  In an effort to boost attendance, we're going to try working on some fun art projects for a few meetings.  I hope you can join us on Sunday for the start of the Outdoor Art badge.  A list of materials and equipment is available in a separate announcement.

Junior Outdoor Art Badge

Posted on Jan 20 2021 - 10:05pm

Juniors have chosen to work on the OUTDOOR ART badge.  At our meeting on Sunday, 1/24 you will need the materials listed below to complete the planned art project.  If you'd like to have the troop provide the materials for you, let Ms. Christa know by Friday at noon and you can pick up them on Saturday or on Sunday morning.  Equipment will need to be provided by parents.

[Mandatory] Cookie Program Kickoff - January 3rd, 2:00pm

Posted on Dec 22 2020 - 11:26pm

The Girl Scout cookie program is starting in January, and we need everyone to join our Kickoff on January 3rd from 2:00-3:30!

Important: For this meeting, we need a parent for every scout to join this meeting on a separate device from your scout - we will have a breakout for the girls to do some planning and for the parents to get the program info.  This is an extremely important meeting and we really need everyone to join!

Why do we sell cookies?  This is more than just a fundraiser. Cookie Sales are a key part of our program delivery. Through the cookie program, we teach five key skills that all girls need to be successful in life:

  • Business Ethics
  • Decision Making
  • Goal Setting
  • People Skills
  • Money Management

Through the cookie program, the girls have several badges and pins they can earn while they're honing those entrepreneurship skills!  We want everyone to participate in this fun program as we work through the new COVID world.

Experienced families - there is a LOT of new information that we'll need to discuss, given the state of the world today.  Cookie sales will be pretty different this year, so you really do need to attend this meeting.

See you on the 3rd!
