Please work on finishing up the Jeweler badge on your own.  Listed below are the activities we worked on or that need to be completed:

Junior Meeting Wrap Up, 11/8/20

Posted on Nov 10 2020 - 4:31pm

Juniors started working on the JEWELER badge today by making their own beads to create an item of their own design like a necklace, earrings or even a keychain.  The girls who attended the meeting all made beads from clay, but we also demonstrated how to make beads by recycling paper. If you weren't at the meeting and want additional information on how to make bead for this first project, contact Mrs. Christa.

Daisy Nov 8th "Flower Garden" Journey (Part 2 of 3) - Meeting Recap

Posted on Nov 8 2020 - 10:32pm
Greetings Daisy Parents!
Here's a recap of our meeting from today!
We had reviewed a few YouTube Videos on 2 popular Girl Scout songs, and Daisy Flower Petal stories.
This 1st video is on "I'm a Girl Scout Daisy" Song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QbJeZSTvdm8
The 2nd Video is on the "Brownie "Smile" song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S-E_Og1fPxc
For the Flower Garden Journey, we discussed different greetings from around the world, practiced a little Sign Language, shared our healthy snacks on the screen, and reviewed the 3 petal stories:
Zinni Petal "Considerate and Caring" - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kCEPt5vK2wY
Tula Petal "Courageous and Strong" -(This video version is a shorter version & more interesting!) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nUR7QqshI04&t=30s
Mari Petal "Responsible for What I Say and Do" - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XsDfRYoHa5U
I've also included a breakdown of the Girl Scouts "Promise and Law" Petals and their flowers connections in a PDF, I had emailed.
Your Daisy Scout will have a large petal drawn, from each story, with drawings inside, on what the story means to them, or images of what/or whom is "Considerate and Caring", "Courageous and Strong", and "Responsible for What I Say and Do".
Again, our Daisies will take their "All About Me" Promise Center, as well as each petal shapes, cut them out, and glue them onto a large poster board! We will complete the rest of the petals at the next meeting, for the Daisies to complete their Petal Knowledge. Then, they can add them to the poster board, and draw the rest of the flower garden on their poster board!
We will discuss this at length, during our next meeting on Sunday Nov 22nd, at 3 PM - 4:30 PM! We will be meeting on the main Troop 2898 Zoom link, then Mr. Dave will place us into breakout rooms, by Scouting Levels:
Meeting ID: 998 0293 2948
Passcode: 2898
Be on the lookout for my email on flower coloring pages, in the next couple days! The Daisy Scouts can color them, cut them out, and add them to their Flower Garden Journey poster board, if they wish!
Again, a huge "WELCOME"!!!!! To our newest Daisy Scout "Olivia S."!!!! Welcome to Troop 2898! It was great to have you and your mom, Jennifer, on our Zoom meeting, today! :)
Thank you & have a wonderful week!

Brownie Quest recap 11/8/20

Posted on Nov 8 2020 - 4:35pm

Hey Brownie families, we had a fun meeting today with the Brownies.  Today was all about connecting with each other as a team, and starting to connect with their communities/schools.  There is homework coming out of this meeting:

1- Identify something in your school that you'd like to see changed.  Write an email to the Principal suggesting the change. Remember to include WHY this change is important.
2- Continue to lead your family in making healthy choices for snacks
3- Do the Family Star worksheet and email it to Dave
At our next Brownie Quest meeting we will start coming up with our take-action project to help make the world a better place.  Looking forward to seeing you all on the 22nd!
