Welcome to Girl Scouts of Orange County Troop 2898! We're so glad you found us!

We're a multi-level troop with girls ranging in age from Kindergarten through 9th grade. We meet in Rancho Santa Margarita, CA and our members come from there and the surrounding communities.

We are SUPER-ACTIVE and BUSY! Our Daisy and Brownie troops meet every other Sunday (usually the first and third Sundays of the month) and Juniors and Cadettes meet every Sunday. Year round, you may find us working on badges, doing community service projects, or camping.

If you're interested in joining our exciting group, click on the Contact Us link and request more information. We look forward to hearing from you!

London Planning meeting #2 - Saturday 2/5

Posted on Jan 31 2023 - 11:39pm

Cadettes and Seniors Only

If you are interested in the London trip, we are going to have a planning meeting on Saturday from 5pm - 8pm.  Please RSVP by texting Dave to let me know you're coming.  This will be a pot-luck appetizer dinner, so every scout should plan on bringing an appetizer to share. Let me know what you're bringing when you text to let me know you're coming.

Cookie Booths are coming

Posted on Jan 31 2023 - 11:38pm

Hey folks, Cookie Booths start on Friday, February 10.

If you're interested in participating in cookie booth sales we have two types of booths:

  • Parent/Scout booths - where the scout sells cookies with their parent.  Recommended for older scouts with BIG sales goals (like the London group...)
  • Troop booths - where up to four scouts sell cookies with two adult chaperones.  Recommended for younger scouts or Older scouts who just want to have fun with their GS sisters

Booth locations in RSM included Pavilions, Lowes, Ralphs, Walmart, Bevmo.  If you have preferences let me know.

All booths are at pre-registered locations that have been approved by the Girl Scout council.  You pick up cookies from the cookie garage, take hem to the booth, sell what you can, and bring back the rest.  It's easy and fun, and I hope every girl participates in at least one booth sale!

If you want to sell cookies at a cookie booth, please text Dave ASAP (before Sunday 2/5) at 949-338-9587. Let me know:

  • How many TROOP booths you'd like to do
  • How many Parent/Scout booths you'd like to do
  • What specific days between 2/10 and 3/12 you would be available, and at what times
    • booths are usually two hours long
    • weekday booths start at 4pm and 6pm
    • weekend booths start at 10, 12, 2, 4, and 6
  • If you ask for a booth, you agree that you may be asked to chaperone that booth.  Every booth needs a parent chaperones.

I will assign booths to scouts based on what they have told me before Sunday 2/5.  I can also try to find booth spots for you in alternate locations all around Orange County. If your scout wants to to a bunch of parent/scout booths (London girls) please let me know how many and when, and I'll search all of South OC to find you spots that will be good.

Please ask if you have any questions!

Cookie Update

Posted on Jan 31 2023 - 11:38pm

Cookie sales are in full swing and we handed out about 3,000 packages of cookies this weekend!

If you are going door-to-door, please make sure you're wearing your uniform (vest, white shirt, khaki bottoms if possible - daisies and brownies can wear the daisy or brownie skort).  Be your amazing friendly selves and make sure to tell people why you are a scout! They will love to hear about our camping trips, rock climbing, tree planting service project, and rose parade float decorating!  Really sell Scouting to your customers - that's what this is all about!

Do you need more cookies?  Dave has plenty- just text me.  Please note, Christa and I do work outside the home, so we may not be available precisely when you want to pick up cookies.  But we will work out a time with you!

Happy Holidays / Service Project recap

Posted on Dec 20 2022 - 8:57pm

Thank you to everyone who came out this weekend to help plant trees for the city of Mission Viejo! Our group of roughly 15 Girl Scouts and BSA scouts planted over 26 big trees on the Oso Creek trail. The City really appreciated our service and they need as much help as they can get!  We’ll do this again in a few months - stay tuned!

Your Troop Leaders would like to wish everyone a very happy and healthy holiday season! We are on break until Winter Camp. but we have a ton planned for when we get back! See you all in January!!
